Root Verizon Galaxy S3 with GS3 Debugfs Root

No Flashing Needed to Root Verizon Galaxy S3: New Method

Verizon Galaxy S3 is surely a perfect handset to take up the slick and sophisticated technology at hand. Many rooting methods have been invented earlier but there used to be some issues. Thus XDA developer Noxious Ninja came up with a simple rooting method for S3 without ODIN. But firstly we would like to put forward some advantages of rooting an Android phone. Just go through the advantages and you will realize why we give so much press on rooting.
  • After you root an android phone you will gain access to the internal file system and thus making potent changes in them or accessing them will be very much possible.
  • Yes, for all those who love speeding up the operating system, rooting Android brings in benefit by way of performance and speed enhancement.
  • Sometimes, you may feel quite irritated with the unwanted default apps which the manufacturers or Google packs in without an uninstall button. But since it is something that the administrator has provided you, nothing can be done. But rooting helps you in removing the unwanted default apps and that too with a very simple method.
  • Since rooting makes the Android free, you can now update the phone with upgrades and custom ROMs. You don’t need the permission of the manufacturer for this.
  • New kernel installation can also be taken up and this would surely thrill you up.
  • You can enhance the visual experience of the phone after rooting.
  • Reports say it helps in reducing the battery usage of Android phones.
  • There are many such apps that work on rooted phones only. Yes, after rooting the device, you can seek access to such apps.

Galaxy S3 to get Jelly Bean Official Update in Q3 or Q4

Autumn will bring good news for Samsung Galaxy S3 users

Cold winter months shall approach soon. But it is anticipated that Jelly Bean update on Galaxy S3 will be before those winter months. Don’t you think that’s amazing news? Well, definitely it is. Sam Mobile website which is not actually the official Samsung website is also a reliable site for news on Samsung. The site claims that they could find out for some inside sources that Jelly Bean 4.1 on Galaxy S3 will come up soon. In fact the official Jelly Bean update on Galaxy S3 should be at the end of Q3 or at the start of Q4. This means that you can expect the good news somewhere around October.
Samsung has not yet announced anything on this. However, we know how thrilled they would be to keep this news under wraps at this point in time. But steadily such news should spread like wildfire. Some rumor round ups also go to the extent and claim that Samsung engineers are busy testing Android Jelly Bean 4.1 on S3 and that’s why after testing is done, the official rolling would begin.
As per more news available from Sam Mobile website, we could also extract the info that some movement is also going in Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note fields. Just when Galaxy S3 gets an official Jelly Bean update, the next is the line can be Samsung Galaxy S2. Juicy Jelly Bean update is also expected on Galaxy Note ad the new Galaxy Note2.
It would really be awesome to have the super duper hit Jelly Bean on Samsung’s popular phones. Really, this is surely going to add charm and more features to the mentioned handsets. So, now what we can do is just wait desperately for the official Android 4.1 updates. Do share with us your views on this. How do you feel? Will you wait for the official Jelly Bean roll out on Galaxy S3 or rather you would prefer using a custom ROM like CM10.

Install Google Now Voice Search apk on Samsung Galaxy S3

Google Now on Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy S3 has already created a buzz due to its astonishing features like Smart Stay, Direct Call and S-Voice. Now, think how functional the handset will become if it gets Google Now. Google Now is an amazing Jelly Bean discovery. This is a never seen before personalized and useful app that provides you a personalized search experience. Based on the location you are, the interests you prefer and the routine you have along with your search history data, you will get the search results from Google Now. Samsung Galaxy S3 runs on ICS 4.0. But you can download and install Google Voice Search apk on S3 (credit to XDA member)In this article we will show you this.
But for getting Google Now on Galaxy S3 you will first need to root Galaxy S3. If you have a question in mind that why you need to root Galaxy S3 or any such Android then just read the following:
After you root your Android phone, you will now be able to remove and modify the pre-installed Apps and installations. Just like in Windows one can have an administrator account, in Linux the administrator is called as root. Thus in an Android phone you will come across the word rooting the android phone. It means, getting access to the higher level (administrative level) permissions. Since Android is Linux, with rooting, there is Super user access to this particular operating system.
It is important to note that rooting the Android device makes the warranty of the device void. But still, developers and tech savvy people are quite a lot excited and thrilled with this procedure as it helps them to attain complete access to the operating system of the device. At one side there is a risk of bricking the phone when you root it, but if you follow the proper instructions and procedures from a legitimate site like www.androidust.com then the chances of such things reduce and the benefits would surely outsmart the risk, by way of features enhancement and other advantage or rooting.
There was a time when rooting was considered as a tedious and long procedure. But the credit for simplification of the procedures go to the hard-working developers who toil and find simple one click programs and tools that would help you in rooting the phone by simple methods. In fact, after rooting the phone, when you feel to unroot your Android , even that won’t take much time and energy. Thus with the help of simple rooting methods you can gain ultimate power over your android phone. Yes, you will get access to the super app called as Super user app which is mother of all apps.
But just like every coin has two sides, you may face some problems too. There are some advantages of rooting as well as disadvantages. But you should be a tech savvy person to find solution of the same. Rooting is something that may expose you to an internal file and the file may be dangerous or malicious. This is one of the drawbacks of the rooting procedure.
To summarize all the above, you can say that, rooting helps you to gain root access to the android operating system in the phone and grants “Superuser” access to the system.
We hope you are quite clear with the concept of rooting now. But rooting is a bit risky process and thus you should do it at your risk. (Disclaimer: We shall not be responsible for anything that happens with your phone after you root the device and download Google Now apk on your handset.)

Procedure to Install Google Now Voice Search on Galaxy S3

SBeam for Sharing Content on Another Galaxy S3

Tutorial to Use SBeam on Galaxy S3

Today there is a rage of Samsung Galaxy S3 everywhere and thus we thought to be part of the bandwagon as well. When this Smartphone was released, it came up with yet another technologically superb facility called as SBeam. We are sure that there are many people who are quite new to the S3 exposure and thus for them using SBeam on Galaxy S3 might be a bit tough. Keeping this in mind, we have created this easy tutorial for using SBeam on S3. In simple words, SBeam is the facility wherein the transfer if files between two phones is pretty simple. It is important to note that currently this facility is available only for S3 and thus you can share content from one Galaxy S3 to another. You just need to keep the two phones back to back.
SBeam is somewhat similar to Android Beam that was seen on Galaxy Nexus in the year 2011. However, SBeam is one step ahead and you can see an immediate connection between the two concerned handsets. This is possible mainly due to NFC and Wi-Fi Direct. Samsung believes that this is the fastest and simplest means to share content with buddies.
To use SBeam on Galaxy S3 you will have to follow the steps given below:
  1. Go to Galaxy S3 Home Screen and from there, select Applications.
  2. On Applications screen, select Settings.
  3. Now go to More Settings.
  4. Selecet SBeam and turn it on.
  5. Put the phones back to back (both should be Galaxy S3).
  6. Let these two phones pair and only a few seconds are needed for that.
  7. Tap the file you want to share.
  8. Accept the transfer on the receiving phone.
  9. As soon as the transfer is done you can use it on the receiving phone.
It is anticipated that soon SBeam facility will be open to other content receiving handsets as well. However, as of now, this is the facility that makes Samsung Galaxy S3 distinct and unique. There was a time when sharing content was tough and one would need complicated set ups and all. But with Samsung Galaxy S3, these problems are discarded. With SBeam Galaxy S3 content sharing becomes just a button away.
We hope you liked this article on SBeam on Galaxy S3. Do let us know your experiences on this. Also, comment here and share your views.

Enable Smart Stay Feature on Galaxy S3

Galaxy S3 Smart Stay Feature makes it Superbly Distinct

Galaxy S3 being an expensive yet smartly glamorous devil, we can understand that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. But still having knowledge about the smart features of this smart phone really does not hurt. If you already have this phone or you have ordered this then man we really wish to congratulate you for this superb handset. Even I did not fancy this handset (grapes are sour! My pockets do not allow me to fancy this mind boggling gadget!), before I visited one promotional event as arranged by Samsung. Over there smart features of Galaxy S3 were explained in detail. The Smartphone includes features like S-Voice, SBeam for content sharing(http://www.androidust.com/sbeam-for-sharing-content-on-another-galaxy-s3/) etc. This really made me fall obsessively in love with the gadget. In this article we shall explain you the Smart Stay feature of Galaxy S3in detail. We shall also provide you the guidelines as to how to enable Smart Stay feature on Galaxy S3.

What is Smart Stay Feature in Galaxy S3?

Smart stay in Galaxy S3 is the feature where it gets automatically detected that the user is looking at the display. Thus display time out is kept off at that time. This is a distinct and the most useful feature for the users who prefer reading eBooks, files and texts on the phone. And to my surprise, Galaxy S3 automatically turns off the display when you are not looking at it. Isn’t this amazing? You must be thinking that how does the phone understand that you are looking at the display or screen. Well, S3 tracks your eye balls and based on that it keeps the display turned on or turns it off. Thus you don’t need to put in any extra effort to touch the home screen every now and then to keep the display on. All this happens automatically.
I asked the doubt to the Samsung guys that what if, while reading my eyes succumb and I fall asleep. They smiled and said, Galaxy S3 is designed for humans and so when you fall asleep, the phone also sleeps thus saving your battery.
There might be more uses of this S3 Smart Stay feature. But that will be as and when people use it and invent it. But according to me, Smart Stay feature is a nature inspired solution which proves that S3 is a genius in reality. The eye tracking smart stay is something that proves that why Samsung is the king and what makes it distinct than the rest.

Enable Smart Stay Feature on Galaxy S3

The steps given below will help you to set up Smart Stay on S3.
  1. The very first thing you are required to do is go to the home screen of Galaxy S3.
  2. Now you will see applications on the home screen.
  3. Choose applications.
  4. Select settings in applications.
  5. Select display.
  6. Select “Screen timeout”.
  7. Change the timeout to 15 seconds and select the Smart stay check box.
  8. That’s it. The set up is done.
We hope this article would be helpful to you. If you have something to share on this, then kindly do let us know. We would love to get your feedback.

Tethering Galaxy S3 for Wi-Fi Sharing

Set up Tethering on Samsung Galaxy S3

Tethering Android phones help in sharing internet connection with other devices. Wi-Fi sharing is something that gives the Android device position of the modem or Wi-Fi router. In this article we will provide you information in relation to how to set up Samsung galaxy S3 as Wi-Fi hotspot. But it would be better to take opinion of your service provider in this regards. This is because your service provider may have some data charges for tethering. You can buy the unlimited plan that also provides you with the tethering facility. But be very specific in this regards as far as information is concerned because some networks may charge you per gigabyte of data or as per the number of hours etc. We therefore recommend that you make all these things clear with your service provider first.
Now, the question is how to share internet connection from Galaxy S3 with laptop, another mobile or tablet? Well, there are various methods in which you can do that.
The very first method is Samsung Galaxy S3 USB tethering.

  1. Take USB cable that has come with your Galaxy S3 and connect your phone with the computer with the help of this USB cable.
  2. Now tap on apps icon.
  3. Tap on settings.
  4. Tap on tethering and portable hotspot.
  5. There is a box besides USB tethering. You need to check that box and activate the same.
  6. Now, you will see that there will be an automatic connection between your Galaxy S3 and computer. Also an internet connection will be established.
The second method is tethering Galaxy S3 Via Bluetooth
The method for Bluetooth is same as USB tethering. The only change will be rather than using the USB cable you will have to use Bluetooth. Also, while activating or checking the box in the 5th step you have to consider Bluetooth tethering rather than USB tethering.
The last method is tethering Samsung Galaxy S3 via Wi-Fi.
  1. Tap on the Apps icon
  2. Tap on Settings
  3. Tap on More Settings
  4. Tap on Tethering and portable hotspot
  5. Tap the Portable WiFi Hotspot on
  6. Now after you are done with all the above you must move to the Wi-Fi settings of the other device and search for the Wi-Fi network of Galaxy S3 and connect to it. As soon as the connection is established, there will be an internet connection.
We hope that the above methods will be helpful to you in sharing internet from Galaxy S3 with laptopor other devices. Kindly let us know your feedback on this.

Enjoy Jelly Bean Sony Xperia Theme

Get Sony Xperia Jelly Bean Themes V.1 Vico

Jelly Bean is the word everywhere. Over a few days we have seen Jelly Bean 4.1 ROMs ported on various handsets like Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and such other popular handsets. Also, we have seen how Jelly Bean 4.1 apps are working on various other phones as well even without the Jelly Bean custom ROM. Developers wants the Android users to get the Jelly Bean hands on experience even without the official Jelly Bean Android platform release. This effort is truly appreciable.
Here, we are going to discuss about efforts of one of the Senior members at XDA named vicino. He claims that he could successfully create Jelly Bean Sony Xperia themes. We heartily congratulate him for his work and expect that he comes up with much such brilliant stuff.
You can install Jelly Bean Sony Xperia theme on your Android. But before that we would like to tell you that kindly go through the disclaimer.
Disclaimer: Installing custom themes on your Android devices can be a bit risky. In that case it is vital that you have enough technical knowledge and at least know what you are doing. You must move ahead at your own risk. We shall not be responsible for anything that happens with your handset while flashing Jelly Bean Sony Xperia theme on the phone.
Note: It is important to note that the given theme is based on bigxie Maguro Stock Jelly Bean build.

How to Install Sony Theme for Jelly Bean

  1. Kindly take the back up of the phone first. This is very much important. If while flashing the theme if any problem occurs, then you can always have an option to return back to your original settings. That’s the reason why we strongly recommend you to take a proper back up of the phone. This includes everything from settings, SMS, contacts and data. In case if there is some data loss, you will have to bear the brunt of the issue. Thus, be alert and take the complete back up.
  2. You can now Wipe Dalvik cache. However, this is up to you. It is your wish whether you want to wipe dalvik or not.
  3. You must install the theme from CWM.
  4. That’s it. You are done.

Galaxy S3 gets RAM Update: Courtesy Jelly Bean 4.1

As we all know that around 10 percent of Android devices had received an ICS update. In the meanwhile when this was still in the process Google came up with Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Even though Jelly Bean 4.1 is not as revolutionary and potent as Android Ice CreamSandwich, it has some amazing features and functionality. The features and tweaks that Jelly Bean will bring in should provide you with a better home screen, a good camera app and some such tweaks.
Google announced that Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Zoom will get Jelly Bean update during July. With this confirmation people started having loads of speculation on whether Galaxy S3 will get a Jelly Beanupdate or not? Well, the good news is, our trusted sources have reported that Galaxy S3 variants have received some major changes or you can say that some last minute adjustments. Mostly this change is in regards to RAM update. This would be able to run Jelly Bean on Galaxy S3 very smoothly.
Now, you will have a question in mind and that is, Jelly Bean update is apt for Galaxy S3 or not? Well, technically Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 is very much functional and resourceful and is something that has given Galaxy S3 the desired image. But Samsung is quite progressive in its attitude and wants that Galaxy S3 which is considered as a future proof device should get Jelly Bean update.
Reports suggest that to start with the Korean Giant Samsung has not made too many changes in the specs of Galaxy S3. Merely RAM update seems to be enough for the current move and motive. Galaxy S3 RAM has been changed from 1GB to 2GB.
It is important to note that neither Samsung nor Google has made any official announcement on Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3. But according to the steps both Google and Samsung have been taking lately, this is something we could guess. And believe us, this is not a wild guess. It has a base and should soon come up as genuine news.
Now let us discuss the best features of Jelly Bean 4.1 that should make Galaxy S3 a perfect choice for future.

Features of Android Jelly Bean 4.1

  1. Google Now: Android Jelly Bean should provide you with the latest Google Now. Google Now is much smarter than anything else and thus you can surely add more smartness to the Smart Phone.
  2. Offline Voice Typing: Initially this feature will be available only in English. But soon other languages will be added.
  3. Faster, smoother and better: Android Jelly Bean is an upgraded version and thus it should provide you with faster, smoother and better experience on your S3. This is what is called as Project Butter.
  4. Expandable Notifications and Improvement to Android Beam should also provide you with a more functional approach.
Thus, with Jelly Bean on  S3, you will see mutual admiration society getting formed between Google’s next Android platform and Samsung’s big tech gadget designed for humans.

Samsung: Galaxy S3 to reach 10 million sales by end of July

galaxy, samsung, smartphone, quad-core, galaxy s3, galaxy si
Despite experiencing supply problems and suffering production errors with the rear cases of Pebble Blue handsets early on, which caused over half a million cases to be binned, Samsung says it's on course tosell 10 million of its new Galaxy S3  flagship smartphone by the end of July.

"We're getting far better reviews on S III than we did with its predecessors globally [...] and supply simply can't meet soaring demand," said JK Shin, head of Samsung's mobile division. "We've sent executives and staff to almost all our (component) suppliers to ensure a smooth offering and hopefully things will get better from next week."

The handset launched in the US last Thursday with T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint but the South Korean technology giant has struggled to keep up with demand, with 32GB models non-existent due to tight supply issues. Pebble Blue versions also continue to experience short supply due to a previous manufacturing error that resulted in over 600,000 covers being binned. By the end of July the handset will be available globally with over 300 carriers.

Samsung, the world's largest phone maker by volume launched the first Galaxy S handset two years ago in a bid to counter Apple's dominant iPhone smartphone. At the time, big Sammie had a market share below 10%. Thanks to over 50 million "S" handsets now sold, and record-breaking shipments of other Samsung models the technology firm now enjoys a market share over three times larger at 30.6%. In the January to March period alone, Samsung sold 44.5 million units, an incredible 21,000 per hour.

The news follows previous claims the S3 had hit nine million pre-orders ahead of its May 29 launch, but confusingly it's unknown whether the ten million estimate will be handsets sold to customers, or the same figure shipped to shops. Apple on the other hand reports the total figure of new handsets activated for the first time, giving an accurate account of exactly how many handsets are actually purchased by consumers.

Foxconn CEO: iPhone 5 will put Samsung Galaxy S3 to shame

apple, iphone, foxconn, samsung, iphone 5, galaxy s3, samsung galaxy s3, terry gou, foxconn c
Foxconn's CEO Terry Gou used the company's annual shareholders' meeting yesterday to comment on the upcoming 'iPhone 5', saying it would best Samsung's latest flagship smartphone as well as highlighting his continued bitter resentment towards the South Korean technology giant.

While the move is unlikely to have been green-lighted by Apple, the Cupertino-based retailer can breathe a sigh of relief as his only major comment was the iPhone 5 would put the Samsung Galaxy S3 to shame, although no information was actually offered to explain how it would. That said, it's doubtful Apple will be impressed given their preference for remaining completely tight-lipped prior to each product's official launch.

According to Focus Taiwan, outspoken Gou has made it a personal lifetime goal to defeat Samsung in every respect, and even went as far as to describe it as "a company with a track record of snitching on its competitors" in reference to the 2010 flat-panel price fixing investigation, in which the Korean company acted as a witness in return for immunity.

"I respect the Japanese and especially like their execution and communication styles," Gou said. "Unlike the Koreans, they will not hit you from behind."

Besides the tirade on big Sammie, perhaps the biggest news was the announcement that the Foxconn CEO invested $800 million of his own money in a 46.5% share of Sharp's Sakai Japan plant -- currently the only factory capable of mass-producing 60 to 80-inch display panels, and the only one with an exclusive large panel deal with Corning for its popular damage-protecting coatings.

Gou pointed out that it gave both Foxconn and Sharp a three-year advantage over anything the Korean technology giant can currently build, and a means to defeat them completely in three to five years. "With [Foxconn's] marketing and manufacturing strengths and Sharp's key technologies, the two will be able to defeat their arch-rival Samsung," Focus Taiwan said.

Foxconn will begin operating the Sakai factory from July 1, although some of the production will move to Foxconn's headquarters, creating more jobs locally.

Salty Samsung Galaxy S III Specification

It's no surprise that Samsung is preparing another Galaxy S flagship smartphone but now, after taking a dose of salt to keep us grounded (and salty), we may have an idea of what the South Korean company has in plan for its successful Galaxy S family.
The slide below includes a timeline for the Galaxy S series and mentions for 2012 the Galaxy S III which is said to feature a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD (1280 x 720) touchscreen, a 1.8 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. The image provided next to the specs doesn't look that enticing but it may be too early to complain, especially since the origin of the slide is sketchy.
Currently Samsung is busy preparing the Galaxy Nexus model and probably won't talk about the Galaxy S III until late February 2012 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona so let's keep the hype at reasonable levels for a while longer. Of course we still want two S III's, for to use daily and one to take to bed instead of a plush stuffed animal. What were we saying about hype?
